Former Energy State Minister Mosharraf No More

Dhaka, October 17, 2020 (EP) – Former State Minister for Power Division and BNP leader AKM Mosharraf Hossain died at a hospital in Dhaka today (Saturday), party sources said. He was 83.

The advisor to the BNP Chairperson breathed his last around 8:30pm at Lab Aid Hospital while undergoing treatment. He left behind two sons and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other party leaders expressed deep shock at his death and prayed for salvation of the departed soul as well as conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Mr. Mosharraf had long been suffering from various ailments before being tested for Covid-19 and later admitted to the hospital on September 29, the hospital sources said.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be held tomorrow (Sunday) at Mymensingh Eidgah Ground after Zuhr prayer and a second janaza will be held at Muktagachha play ground after Asr prayers. He will be buried at the family graveyard in Muktagachha of Mymensingh.

Mr. Mosharraf discharged his duties as a secretary of different ministries before joining politics and elected as the member of parliament for few times from Muktagachha (Mymensingh).
